yah thanks guys, i keep reading everything also but nothing confirmed yet, its very annoying! ive seen the 535d that is twin turbo charged, i think top gear ran it vs the 545 on a rainy day and it has huge amnounts of torque but it was still slower than the 545 in the end...if bmw wasto offer the 335d then i dont think it would even make it to the US, you guys agree?

Going by the past Bmw AG policies, its an educated guess that the 335D will be forthcoming! There have even been rumours of an M3 with same engine but uprated to 320bhp!

I agree with you that it will be improbable that these will make it to the US.
My guess is that if Bmw are to bring a Diesel in ,it will be the X5 with an uprated 535D engine (Oh boy!600nms of torque!)

BMW has indicated that we won't get diesel anytime soon. So it'll probably be around the 2009-2010 mark when the second set of emissions requirements kick in.

My stealer's GM told me that it such an animal will be produced and it is supposed to come Stateside. This turbocharged 3er is intended to slot in between the 330 and the M3.

Kirk: I'm interested in it but I fear the heat we get out our way will be bad for a turbo.

kev, but did he say it was gonna be a gas or diesel engine?
...as in the one currenetly used in the 535d?

heat kills every force induction engines....most fun in the colder winters and at nite!

He did not say it was a diesel. I actually doubt it will be. In any event, I would pretty much rule it out as the heat issue is too much to deal with. My friend with a Vulva S60R hates the summers because his car feels so much slower than on a nice winter night. As they say, there is no replacement for displacement so I'm keeping the Audi S4 tops on my list.
