lots of bad reports about it. The range of motions have cause injuries that would have otherwise not with free weights, also some complains about equipment -flex bar malfunctions which sounds pretty damn painful! What's the reason why you can use free weights or weight ball?
I've been doing stretches and exercises on the Piloti's ball and it's actually pretty tough. Daily regimen include crunches and also a ton of pushups along with running, biking and swimming (in the freezing water with wetsuit )

i just bought this, it's great. I'm 6 2 220 and itworks great for me. Sears is selling it for $1000 not including shipping or tax. I got it from Costco for $550 including shipping, and another $50 in tax.
There's no weight stack so you can put it on an upper floor. It's electronic resistance up to 340lbs (sears' is at 240 and you have to pay another $100 for the extra 100lbs) http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...opnav=&browse= I was looking at a bowflex too, they had a couple of problems with the bench that they fixed, but i wasn't too intrigued by the rods .... looked like a pain in the butt.

6-8 years ago, my right wrist was dislocated in several places by a good friend of mine in martial arts practice... it took about 1 year to heal to the point where i can use my wrist normally.
it turns out, i still have 2 rotated bones in my wrist and the ortho surgeon does not recommend surgery. i keep tearing the ligaments and injuring my wrist... last episode was about 6 months ago and my wrist is finally back to my somewhat normal state... surgeon state that its one of those things that could get better or worst with surgery and not worth the risk since i'm on the good side of the incident... if i was in constant pain, then sure, it can't get any worst... |

No Bowflex, but once upon a time I had something that pre-dated it, the Soloflex. It was decent, and I used it a lot. If you have issues that make free weights a problem, then some sort of machine would be good.
Don't screw with your joints, man. I, too, got knocked out of martial arts and many types of activities by ortho injuries. It is hard to find new ones that are useful.
