Angry DAMN BMW and their CHEAP water pumps!!!!!

Yeah, so I was what some people would call FULL OF RAGE yesterday though you would never guess it from how I handled matters. I was driving back to VA yesterday, all sad and pouty after a wonderful trip when suddenly *BLAM* thud thud thud thud thud... I thought to myself, did I just hit a shredded tire and now it's caught under the car?? So I slow down and move to the right lane and I see a little black thing fly out from behind the car. The thud goes away and I decide let me pull over to look under... that's when I notice the battery light.

Battery light I think to myself... wtf... Then it hits me... the belt must be off and there's usually only one reason that happens. I pull to the shoulder, pop the hood... 3 busted fan blades, fan sitting in an angle fortunately not puncturing the rad, belt completely off the pulleys... BUSTED WATER PUMP

There I was straded in Missouri, 4.5 hours into the trip and 40 miles west of St Louis. A certain lilbit came to my rescue and took me back to her place while the car was being fixed. She's driving me back to get my car today.... I think you can call that love

Warranty... what's that??? Every where I called when I bought the car said they wouldn't warrenty a 99 M3 with 52k on the clock. Now it has 85k + a little and is costing roughly $600 to fix (pump, fan, rad clip, labor 75/hr and a 3 hr job).

No cape... just open loving arms

Dude...85k on the original water pump? That sounds just about the right time for them to go. Glad everything worked out and you're only out of a water pump, fan, and belt as things could have ended up a lot worst.

M3s are notorious for water pump failures. They should be changed at least every 60k. Or do what i did. Call turner motorsports or UUC and get there woter pump with the metal impeler. It was actually inevatable that it happened to your car. im surprised it didnt do it sooner.
