Thumbs up 6 Series review

Well gang, I finally took some time to drive the 6 series...all I can say is . My dealer let me keep it for a day and here are my thoughts. The powerplant sings a great note when you turn the key. It took me a lil while to adjust to the low seating position, but once I was settled, it was on. The wheel response was (A) typical BMW...the weight seemed a little heavier than I was thinking, but the juice under the hood took care of that. This car has a great feel on the street...the ride wasn't as rough as you might think.
The interior was laid out nicely...but the command center seemed high to me.
That might be due to driving the X and looking more downward. My only issue with the car was the i Drive. I still can't figure out what BMW was thinking when this was introduced. The whole idea seems cheesy at best. It felt really cheap and loose. Since I know Nav is a big subject on the board, I played around with it and found it to be much better than previous systems. I currently have a MKIII and after my test drive...I'm looking for a MKIV. The prospective view is the bomb. I had to get use to the male voice and him repeating my commands. Now to the drive itself. I gotta tell you...this car has great handle and control. I was able to break the tires fairly easy with DSC off of course. The mid-range torque was great. I was surprised that the software would allow me to downshift to first at a much higher RPM than I would normally do in the X. In third gear around 4000 RPM, it would literally push me into the seat if I punched it. Second gear is a gimmie, but third The brakes...well you know they where typical BMW brakes.
I don't want to put you guys to sleep, so I'll kill the post here. Before I close let me say this, if you get the chance to drive this car, drive it like you stole it.........................Phil

Did you try the Sport button?
To sum it up, it's the best BMW vehicle I've owned.

I'm hoping to maybe drive one during the Susan G Komen Ultimate Drive. Maybe I'll get lucky and there will be open slots for one.
