I got one for a loner car once and it was a fun little car, it had good pick up and it was bigger then what I first expected.

What are you looking to know about them?

I test drove a Cooper S and really liked it. Handling is close to BMW. Are you getting a new Cooper or Cooper S?

It looks like a fun,bop around town car. I just wish I could fit in one. Definitely go with the S with the John Cooper Works upgrade. Lots of ways to mod it out now.

I had a JCW edition. The 6 speed is great. I really didn't even need the 6 gears. I honestly didn't even need the 5th. The little car had great power delivery and the power band was amazing. My 2nd gear was the most powerful from 20 to 40. The car handles like a dream but I also had a New Beetle Turbo S model that handle the same if not better. The small wheel base really helps.

I did have chances to meet with others with the MCS with reprogramed ECU's and found them to be similar in power but for some reason the JCW edition seemed more polished; meaning it came straight from the factory. Believe me; I raced alot of cars and from 20 to 40 mph I kept and pulled away from M3's, S4's, 350z's, G35's, S2000's, and Z28 Camaros. It was really until after 60 that the reality of a 4 banger hits you.

If I remember right it was about $6000 for the JCW edition. If you have the extra money; I would definately consider it because this is the ultimate MINI with the warranty. That was the biggest thing for me; the warranty.

I knew/researched alot about reprogramming the ECU but/and knew ways around possibly getting into disputes with my dealership but I didn't want to take the chance. Let me know if you have any other questions. You can add on alot of bolt ons to make it more powerful and such but the JCW edition really is the he ultimate MINI in my opinion.

Yep you can rev all the way to redline in park. It was cute... The exhaust note is definately better than the MCS. I suggests you test drive both. The JCW is an accessory that can be financed with the vehicle as well; just to tempt you a little bit. Gas mileage was great for the little thing; I had fun with the car and didn't really have to push the car to its limits on everyday drives. The car has alot of power in reserve. It didn't hurt to have a strong 2nd and real long 3rd gear.

well it's for my girlfriend and she does not drive 5-speed, it's automatic and it's just for her to get around. I must say, I never thought I'd say this but I may consider getting one for myself in the future as a get around car, it's very fun feeling. The one we are looking at has Navi and Pano roof, please see pics attached.
