Whistle Snow Showdown Video: X5 vs the rest of the pack

Since we're coming in to Spring now, I thought it's prime-time to post this video of a snow showdown of several Import cars & SUVs, with the X5 coming in 2nd to a unlikely competitor. Probably every X5er & their mama has seen this, but if you haven't it's worth a watch!
PS- It's from a German network I believe, so the only words I recognized were "Showdown" and "B-M-W". It's all clear from the video though!
CHeck it out at:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...18248698454614
Wish their were a few other models in there- ML, LandRover, Hummer (hehe), Cayenne?
Edit: Wait- On 2nd watch, is that a non-sport?!?!? (judging by the X5 rims). If so, I'm doubly impressed!

I hardly think the winner was an unlikely competitor!

Mechanically, Audi's quattro is obviously superior to pre-XDrive X5s, and also still superior to xDrive-equipped vehicles.

Adding an ML and a Rover would have made it interesting.

Awesome. I guess I was suprised since seeing road-tests vs smaller competitors (M3, C3), where the weight held the Audi back a little. However, in this category, it blew everyone else out the water- Only one to make it to the top! Great video for those who are in snow-heavy areas looking at their options. More SUV's next time I hope!
Best,
M

I hate audis. And my wife has one. But i will be the first to admit that the quattro system audi has is the best all wheel drive system in the world. I was not surpised at all by the winner. I do would if a newer X5 with Xdrive would have made it to the top though. i was surprised about the Nissan ptrol. those things are supposed to have a bad ass 4wd system. I guess not.

At least you know your wife's Audi will fare well in snow if needed!
The Nissan really bombed. I didn't expect great things, but not that bad. I like that the course was so powdery, cause it's similar to fresh snow/ cold night conditions. Hope they expand the field of competition in the future... and add subtitles!

hm. i'd say the mitsubishi evo has the best awd system in the world. =) hell, the thing can become 1WD if necessary lol ... not to mention that it is repeatedly hailed as being one of the most phenomenal track cars money can buy.
