He did actually get away, but his own dad turned him in to the police. His father was a racecar driver, so I'm guessing that's how the kid learned how to drive like that.

Those are the famous BMW brakes, very few cars can match them

cop need car control/defensive lessons too... his car was MUCH heavier then the e30.. i would've traded paint with the kid then smack his car upside the guard rails... at the very least, i would've punted the kid when he slammed on his brakes like that... no need to dodge...

old vid.. camaros can be made to handle great... got some dominating T1 and GT1 racing right now...

That kid got some skill...and that camaro is sqealing tires one every lane change. The last few seconds do in fact look like the same footage of when the camaro almost rear ends the beemer when he slams on the brakes, they cut the footage right before the cop would move to avoid the crash (observe the road signs on the side). And also the camaro crashed after the kid shrugged his shoulder and no way was a crown vic keeping up with the beemer. BMW 1, Camaro 0(gatta love the honesty of the media). I think the announcer is so annoying...on every police chase show he exagerates everything...and he says that the bimmer was supercharged..is this correct? not sure.

also, granted these speeds were definitely getting high: but usually it's like "...with the stolen car hitting speeds of up to NINETY MILES PER HOUR!!!!" lol

although even 125 on a straight (relatively) desolate road is not a big deal ... it's like the autobahn. In summer of 2004 my buddy and i did road trip around europe after i grad'd ucla and there were sections where we were comfortably doing 130 or so in an opel vectra wagon lol amazingly solid at 130 btw ........ i guess all euro-spec cars are turned for high-speed cruising?!

That was an amazing chase video. I never thought highly of the old E46 M3 with 240hp. And this being an even older E30...

I am quite impressed! I didn't know you could that much with so little power. And aside from the driver's stupidity in running, I must also point out that he had a combination of some nice skill and luck there.

The Camaro, just like all the F-bodies GM cars is largely garbage. Detuned Corvette engine inside a heavy old body, plastic-clad interior, and possibly rear drum brakes. LOL
