Just reading through the posts on this thread......WTF???.....
Was going to mention the security issue, but thats been covered already. So, you want to put your laptop in the car for navigation???? Just go buy a Tom Tom or something similar. Are you telling me that you will get into your car with the laptop, then plug it into a docking station, boot it up (win XP?), login (locally, of course), run your nav application, wait for the gps usb device to kick in etc etc etc etc etc This is not a bloody fighter jet, it's a car. Horses for courses !! That is the English saying, get the right tool for the job!

actually i've often wondered about doing the same thing ... just like the cop cars have
 i think it'd be cool if there were a way to mount it! (not for nav purposes, just to have a computer there with possibiliy of going online now and then
