MS Office for Mac - what & where to buy?

Hey Mac Gurus -

I'd like my daughter to be able to use MS Office applications on her Mac - specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I noticed that there are several versions available and they all seem to be very expensive. There's the professional version, student teacher version, etc. I don't want to get a version that has frustrating limitations.

Can any of you Mac wizards offer some guidance on what to get and where I can get the best deal?

TIA!!!

First check this out then find a Mac store and get the standard version. The product (IMHO) is worth the money.

Buy the Student version. It has everything she needs, at the most affordable student price. Check ebay first, if nothing then go to a local Apple store and buy it.

Try

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/9602

"DESCRIPTION
OpenOffice.org is both an Open Source product and a project. The product is a multi-platform office productivity suite. It includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office."

Free office alternative that is very very good.

Thanks for the info guys... So the student version isn't missing anything?

BTW Quick - her Mac is not Intel based so I don't think that software will work with it. Sure looks slick though!

Any other ideas/suggestions?

OBTW Most Mac's come with Appleworks 6 installed. Dosn't she have that? Finally if you know someone who has the student teacher edition they may have one of their multiple installs still avaliable which would be free. Thats how I got mine.
