Vehicle Description

1987 Mercedes 420SEL in Great condition driven very gently with only 101,000 original miles. The car is charcoal gray with a moon roof and premium sound system ready for XM radio. I just put all new front end parts and A trans seal. All preventative maintenance has been done.

The reason I am selling this beautiful automobile is because on the morning of Sept. 15, 2005 I was awoken by being stabbed several times with a 3 ½ foot long sword by my husband. Who has been diagnosed with bi-polar, depression and schizophrenic tendencies. He is on social security disability. I have taken care of him for the past 6 years as his disease progressed. (Obviously I have filed for divorce since then)

He then proceeded to beat my arms and legs with the flat end of the sword I was bleeding from the stab wounds and pleading for him to stop while my 6 year old daughter was across the hallway cowering in her room listening to her father tell her mother “this is your last day live” and “I have to kill you I have no choice” while I had no way to get out of my bed let alone the bedroom. I looked around the room and saw that all the phones from the house had been collected and put in a pile on the bedroom floor so I knew my daughter could not call for help. My daughter was crying and begging her father to come out of the room. He decided to open the bedroom door to comfort our daughter and tell her “everything is fine don’t worry mom and I are just arguing” Then minutes later the doorbell rings and to my surprise and by the grace of God, I found a cordless phone wrapped up in the bed comforter – this was my only salvation I couldn’t let him know I found something, but I took my chance and dialed 911 I couldn’t even talk I just dialed and prayed they answered , because he only answered the door by yelling from the hallway for our other 2 children (12) & (13) who were at the door. (Who were kept home from school to make an appearance for my husband for his 2DUI charges and try to convince his attorney that I was at home trying to kill him) He then instructed them (without opening the front door) to take the credit card he gave them earlier in the morning and go to Walgreen’s to buy candy and to take their time. (while running back and forth from the bedroom to the top of the stairs leading to the front door). I decided to make my break toward the bedroom door and to my 6 year old in the other room only to find him on the other side. He then pushed me into the bathroom and proceeded to hit me in the face shattering my nose with his fist and pushing me into the tub and breaking my tailbone. The next thing I remember is the doorbell ringing and the police arresting him and they took me by ambulance to the hospital. My children were all taken to the police station and were released to my sister.

Since then, I have had a lot of healing to do, not only from the surgery and 6 stab wounds, I’ve had the emotional damage of not only myself, but my 3 precious children. Due to my family’s unfortunate event, I was forced to move to my parent’s already crowded house as my sister, husband and 2 children already share their home. We lived there for 3 months until I healed from my injuries. Because of all the psychiatric help my children currently require, I cannot even consider living on our own as we are still scared and still awaiting their father’s sentencing. Thank God for FAMILY as we now live with my cousins and their child in their cozy 3 bdr home. Unfortunately at this point, the less than eager Dupage County States Attorneys Office did not charge him with attempted murder, or weapons charges, or aggravated assault because I was “lucky” to be married to this animal. This same office classifies this brutal attack with a deadly weapon as domestic violence. This same office would not prosecute him for child abuse even though my 13 year old daughter wanted to press charges and made several statements to the States Attorneys office back in July. After 7 months we finally went to court on the criminal charges, It appears his punishment will be a measly 6 months in jail and 2 years probation. This criminal act was completely pre-meditated and this guy was only charged with a class 4 misdemeanor, even though the States Attorneys office had full cooperation from me and my children they still would not charge this as a felony. I have also incurred roughly $30,000 in medical bills and my children are all living in fear that he is going to come back for us and all require intensive psychological treatment. The police collected at the scene at least 15 weapons one of which had my blood on it.

If a stranger off the street decided to stab me 6 times break up my face and tailbone, with the help of a sword he or she would be charged with attempted murder or at the very least assault with a deadly weapon.

After living through this horrific experience and understanding that currently the law is of no help to the victims of domestic violence, I feel compelled to tell my story and try to prevent this from going on in other families in the future. I am looking for help from anyone willing to guide or assist me in stopping this injustice from continuing. All I have of value to help our family is this car I desperately need to sell. I guess I am looking for an Angel to help guide me through this horribly devastating experience.

eScam? ...maybe make it a sob story/celebrity purchase angle
for some knucklehead out there in Consumer Land?

I was thinking the same thing. Can't help but be cynical with all the BS stories you hear.

Sounds like something you'd see on Lifetime channel. Reality check: First order of business when hubby is diagnosed a whacko is hide all the sharps. But the sword is a nice touch, though.
