NE1 check out the Toyota Yaris?

40MPG as long as you don't mind driving a suitcase.

106hp/103tq
40mpg...funny part is with a 11.1 capacity fuel tank it still costs you 40 bucks to fill it up.

It's a new wave of cars to address current gas prices. As a matter of fact, they are now selling smart cars in Scottsdale with a current waiting list of 8+ months.

Here's Honda's new entry as well, the "Fit"

Just about to sell the bike here - the plates currently cost $320 annually, but they want to change that in Quebec and we hearing up to $1800 / year for sports bikes within a couple of years... stupid politicians at it again...
Cheaper to run the car...

I go to Quebec for a few weeks total every year, and I also notice how much cost-efficient people there are. You rarely see SUVs, let alone German ones. And if you do, it will only be in front of the Ritz on Rue Sherbrooke.

I did notice a far greater motorcycle population than anywhere else, too!

The Japanese hatchback "econobox" route is the way of the future really. I mean, upfront your cost is like $15000 Canadian total, and after that you laugh at all SUV owners as you live on a full tank for a whole week. It's certianly smart - not to mention the insurance break you'd get on such a little car like the Yaris.

Benz has been selling their Smart "creatures" here in Canada for 2 years now, and I must say that they've really penetrated the market. It's also a real popular car as a fleet vehicle. Draws awesome attention to businesses!

The Smart is more efficient than Toyota's Yaris, and even their Prius. However I've very rarely seen Diesel selling for less than the regular 87. Furthermore, not all stations carry Diesel. Particularly in the city, it's very difficult to find a station selling Diesel. So you gotta watch out where you drive your Smart car, else you won't be able to fill her up.

I read that issue. If you ever saw the Honda in real life, you'd need a barf-bag. Toyota over Honda any day.

The way folks drive around here a person would be ending it. I talked to a man yesterday who gave up his bike for a scooter (Vespa type). He loves it but say's you really gotta watch people because they have no regard for people on bikes. But that Smart car; I don't know why but after seeing it in Italy I like the thing. Ugly and all.
