Wow, what a decision you have to make there. Did you test drive them both? That would be the main thing for me. Post pics if you can so we can help you make a good decision

Neither. Sometimes only an Aston will do.

Wow.........what a decision.........I've always been an ///M person, but I have really come to like the last few years of the AMG models.......especially after driving an '04 E55 and an '06 C55.

I would have to drive them back to back & then decide........uh, can I?

I'd go with the E55.

I'd buy an M5 and use the savings (equivalent to USD$15K) towards enhancements.

I agree, the M6 needs revs to perform and unless you want to go screaming around in 2nd gear @8000rpm then TORQUE is what pushes you in the back.

In real world flatten the pedal to overtake, torque is king. That's why the BMW diesels are getting such rave reviews, and (correct me if I'm wrong) but the 530D has more torque than an M5/6.

Performance of the M5/6 is better suited to track days and fast open roads for a long blast. If traffic is in the mix then it is not much quicker than some of our X5's (in gear acc, non launch control 0-60 etc)

Go and peruse the M5 owners boards here http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showforum=3

Having driven the M5 I am now perusing Mercs......
