University Numa Numa

Or, what university kids are doing between exams (at least some of those who are apparently not as serious and focused as Vignesh)

Numa Numa was a pop song and music video. The younger ones here will all know this. Others (of my generation) will wonder what it is all about.

Short history: An internet fad erupted whereby multiple loners made their own versions, lip synching to the original soundtrack. The filming is usually of low quality.

This version swept over the local campus (UBC). It was made by a couple of business students, and entered in the annual UBC Engineering Undergraduate Society film fest. To get the humour, you need to imagine the usually conservative nature of business and engineering students, at least on this campus. The red jackets in the film are the engineers, presumably on a study break between the 40 Beer Club and the Lady Godiva ride.

That might be the most ambiguously gay thing I have scene in sometime...

Not that there is anything wrong with that...but wow...

"Hey lets roll up our pants and frolic on the beach!'...WTF!

Well made compared to the norm.

One another note, I'd like to make it clear that I'm only serious when it comes to work. I enjoy access to all the good college stuff (I'm not talking about oscillascopes) every weekend as much as the next college student .

I'm not sure what to make of this. The production quality was top notch for amateurs. But as a U of C Chem Eng graduate I cannot imagine any of my peers of my day being caught dead in this video. It's the Villiage People and WAM! rolled into one.

Yet I see in the credits that they had some participation from "Team Calgary" and several other Alberta teams. At least the 40 beer club and Lady Godiva ride traditions are still alive.
