I have to say that the Canadians should teach the FBI how to do a proper sting operation. Apparently they actually understand that when you supply terrorists with bomb making materials, you are then supposed to arrest them BEFORE they set off the bomb.

Wow it's amazing they actually caught them before they tried their plot! I didn't know the police here was capable of such a crack-down!

Put aside all the political jabs and just consider the lives that were saved. I will even resist making a facetious comment about police corruption. I'm just glad that these guys were caught before they caused any damage.

Do you realize it was a sting operation?? The Canadian law enforcement were the ones who supplied the terrorists with the bomb making material. I guess they must have had spies inside the group.

My sarcastic comment above was a punch at the FBI and their handling of the 1993 WTC bombing. They supplied the terrorists with their bomb making materials, and even the guy who made the bomb had been recruited as an FBI informant. But they messed up and failed to arrest these guys prior to them setting off their bomb.

If you're going to do a sting operation, make sure it works!!

I don't care which side of the border they were caught on or who did the sting to catch them . I'm just damn glad they were caught.

I had no idea what a sting operation was. I was just amazed that Canadian authorities actually something or someone. I don't think very highly of our law enforcement over here. At least not of the federal law...

I mean, we still have our horse-riding RCMP guys...

you know...i always ask my self, but i guess i should get the opinion of from you guys since we have so much in common..cars..likes..etc
whats the deal with classifying terrorist's as muslims, besides the fact that they follow a muslim faith, what does it have to do with who's bad and who's not ?
post 9/11 there were public law enforcers (including my self) that had to make sure refugee's dont go bombing mosque's and homes of muslim people.
think about the many terrorist's who are among other faiths, and the majority of people that take up our jail population. they are not classified as a christian serial killer...or a catholic rapist....or a budhist bomber. the same way jap's were stereotyped after pearl harbor...the fact that our government could have done so much to prevent any kind of threat and didn't shouldn't roll downhill onto every innocent, muslim person who are...you know...not terrorist's?

There is a difference here in that their faith is the vehicle for their radicalism and is also used as justification for their actions. It addresses their motivation. While there are christian serial killers and catholic rapist their faith doesn't motivate their actions in the same way that Islam (their version of it) motivates these guys. Denying the religious link is denying the prime motivation for their acts. Being politically correct in this case is being logically incorrect.

I see your point though. It's an unfortunate situation for the vast majority of peaceful Muslums who get painted with the same brush by the media and the general population. Why the general Muslim community doesn't vehomently condemn the terrorist is beyond me. Perhaps they do and the media just isn't covering it.
