Talking 3,000th Post?! Time Flies When...

We're all having fun!
And, before some/most of you respond that ya'll getting tired of my boring bs, long winded Blattys...

15 months since I slipped outta house arrest and staggered over to the then new board, called X5World:
http://www.xoutpost.com/lounge/34-hey-wheres-md.html

http://www.xoutpost.com/lounge/172-wa...over-here.html

As the ol'Regs&Faves will recall, most of us had been placed in RoadToadDetention and/or kicked off that board completely, mostly due to bs ego & high school principal "morals" by that Bored's admins, combined with our own foolish pride. TheGang then migrated to bimmerfest for a while, but the Regs there put the heat on those Admins to shut down our own "RefugeeLounge" and cajoled us to "toe their line". Still a decent & funny board, due primarily to its huge population, but the X series cars are red headed bastard step-children there, imo.

So, UCrew & Drex cooked up this fine board and most of us flocked over here and then sat around looking at each other...the rest, as they say, is history: 6400 members from all around the planet, a huge encyclopedic-like info site on X5s and X3s, a large cadre of very intelligent posters that can answer anything from almost any aspect of life, to a plethora of laugh out loud funny and interesting posts on, well...jes'Stuff!

The X series are amazingazz cars that handle way better than any car that size should, are safe and very fun to drive, and seem to be owned by an anal-obsessive gang of car thugs that spend inordinate amounts of money on mods, tweaks and cosmetic googoos, and then spend a collective huge amount of time, posting and bs'ing and gentle arm wrestling about it, on this fookin Board! But, many posters have left their Xs and remain a cogent part of this good crazy board.

I don't pretend to know or, have even met a majority of posters here, but the couple-three dozen people I have met and, the couple more dozen that I feel like I "know" through posting and emails, have all turned out to be very intelligent, funny, interesting people: from all walks of life, colors & ethnic derivatives, ideas, backgrounds, etc. A few that I have come to know well, I would trust with my wife, my cars, my life, if I were in a freakin bad jamb.

In 15+ months, the Board has expanded and evolved probably beyond Mgmt's dreams and, that of most of us orginial knuckleheads; whether one likes or believes Darwin, change is inevitable and things change and evolve, or extinguish. XWorld has evolved pretty damn well, it seems to me.

There are snippets of angst and acrimony here on occasion, but the exchange and intercourse are excellent, imo, and most of us try and remain civil to each other. Being an early RetiredBum, with time on my hands, I frequent several Web Boards of different persuasions: None are as civil and enjoyable and, widely informative, as X World, imo. One will not find the personal regard for "others" that most of us seem to portray here; as, we all are "others", to some degree.

I will get off the sentimental track and remain surprised/embarassed that this ol'Fool tossed up Three Thousand Fookin Posts in 15 months, (shows what kind of exciting life I have in retirement ), and offer my sincere thanks to Jeff & DrDrex and DaMods for making this board happen and for offering any one of us, and all of us, a very comfortable place to come hang with our Buds & Budettes.

As one of the more senior ol'bastards on this board, age-wise, I hope I make another 3,000 posts. If I can put up with most of you, ya'll can put up with me.

Keep it under a hundred and fifty and between the fences and,
Live until the fookin money runs out.

xoxo

I've followed this board off and on since mid 02 when I bought my x5 and everyone was over on RF....... i hadn't kept up in a while when one day I visited RF to discover that everyone disappeared..... I was glad to see everyone had just reassembled over at bimmerfest and have pretty much been keeping up ever since. I recently bought a 745 and can tell you ...... these have to be the most anal and boring group of BMW owners but damn i enjoy the car.....

MD..... your posts are def read first when I see a new one posted... really enjoy so keep up the posting....

Congrats on your 3,000th, David! You're a GREAT guy, and this board would not be the same without you. We're glad you're here -- fulfilling our "old fart" quota.

Juan
