RR Sport Loaner Car

They gave me a RR sport loaner car today, current opinion? Not impressed
model-2006 RR Sport HSE in buckingham blue (love the color) on black leather
totally stripped MSRP-57k

Negatives
-1-touch up/down drivers window only, wtf?
-Window switches hard to reach
-rear seat is very cramped
-folding mechanism is very bad, you have to fold the seat bottom first to fold seat back (we had carpet to move today)
-alloy is fake or feels it and several materials feel cheap to the touch

Positives
-Nice alloy treatment
-Comfy front seats
-Love the look
-Navi, like my RR's is awesome, love the touchscreen interface
-Sound system is nice, not as nice as the RR but is good

I know some of you guys are looking at them so I thought i'd do a writeup

The RR Sport is no match for the X5 except in offroad ability

Mine is in the shop again for the following
Phantom Revving on the supercharger
Side view mirror no longer tilts down in reverse
Air suspension keeps sending errors
rear heated seat not working
all 3000 drama free miles

Sorry to hear about your RR's problems. You should have expected it though... Just think of it this way; buying the RR is like getting three cars. You will be getting used to driving the RR Sport, LR3 as well as your RR... JK!

I love the looks of the new RR Sport; if I had the money I would get one. I think its a great SUV.

My aunt's RR has had 0 problems so far (04 model, 18,000 miles)... Perhaps problems have arised on the refreshed model when Ford started mixing their electronics with BMW's electronics...

I agree with your comments about the RR sport though. That and it is totally overpriced (overpriced, glorified LR3). It also confuses the market. The public is already confused enough between Land Rovers & Range Rovers (which I guess is a + for the Range Rover's image) - now the public will not be able to tell between the RR and the RR Sport... Urgh, stupid marketing.

how can you say that the alloy sucks in the cons and then say that the alloy is good in the pros?

I do think you're right, it was just a little confusing/funny the way it was written. Kind of like Monty Python: "Green, no blue! Aahhh!"
