Snow Ski holiday

Hey all,

We are trying to plan a trip to the US xmas / New Year. Starting with LA (usual Disneyland, fun parks and abit of shopping (we have 2 boys 15 & 17yo)....then we hire a class A motorhome for about 7-8 days to cruise up to Denver (yes.... I have seen the movie and it is very close to home) and then we plan on spending a week in Vail/Aspen about 8th Jan. Any suggestions on the following would be MOST appreciated;

1. Great places to stay(picturesque) with the RV between LA and Denver (off track is fine).
2. The best place to stay in the snow in CO. We like to snowboard and my boys love to go anywhere there are girls!!!!!! Is the snow in CO still good in January?

I've done quite a bit of driving out there, but never with an RV. Unless the RV is winterized all the plumbing will freeze. Additionally, the roads leading to Aspen are better traversed in an AWD car during January.

There is a town right off the main highway leading to Aspen, slightly lower elevation, but I have no idea whether an RV (by Class A I assume you are renting a 30'-36' diesel pusher) can be parked there. If the boys want to snowboard and ogle girls, Big Bear might be a better option. If you really want to do the road trip to Aspen, consider a short hop flight to Denver, rent a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Expedition, take the money (on fuel alone) spent on the diesel pusher, and book rooms at The Little Nell in Aspen. Unless they resemble Brad Pitt, even with the Mel Gibson accents, your boys will need that address to get any play with the Aspen girls...

Surely there are some Denverites who will weigh in here.

Thanks for the tips acella4.4, my boys were under the impression that the Kieth Urban 'thing' would work on any girl?? We plan on driving the RV from LA to Denver via national parks and other places of interest. We will be dropping it off at Denver, then continuing by some other mode of transport (an X5 would be great....anyone...??) to the snowfields. I have heard of little Nell. We are kind of set on Vail but really dont know too much about it apart from the internet. Come on Coloradians...'give us your two bobs worth' (translated- 'comments please') Thanks
