The Best Fun Park in California???

Hey all,

Planning a trip to the great US of A in December (xmas). I have two boys 15 & 17. To begin our trip we want to visit a couple of the BEST fun parks in CA.
Please help...which parks are truly the best for teenagers.
I look forward to all your comments, good and bad!! Thanks.

Here's a good website that reviews all the theme parks around the world including those in California.

http://www.themeparkinsider.com/

I hope you're planning a trip soon. California's best roller coaster park, Magic Mountain, is up for sale and may eventually close.

Magic Mountain is for older children; some of its rides might be a little too much for young children to endure. It's more for thrill seekers than entertainment.

Disneyland (and it's new sister park, California Adventure) is a must for kids of any age. It's the original, and IMHO, still the best.

For teenagers in Northern California, go to Great America in Santa Clara or Marine World in Vallejo.

I live right next to Magic Mountain. Everything Asawadude said is true. Winter time is better time to vistit because it is so hot.

More locals here have season passes to Disney Land and California Adventure than Magic Mountain since it is more family (kids) friendly. Despite of its financial downfall it is still the best roller coaster park in SoCal.

Fillmore, 20 miles from MM, has old fashioned train ride if you like something more subdued. PM me if you care for more info...

You can never go wrong with Disneyland. Great America is fun, but it is small.

I see that Magic Mountain is opening a new HUGE roller coaster sometime soon...bad timing to be selling...may be an opportunity for somebody to buy it at the right price and run it profitably. Any way...we are really excited about out trip to the US in December. We start at LA then hire an RV to travel to Denver via scenic places?? then have a week in Vail. Cant wait!!

If you actually make it past Las Vegas, Zion Nat'l Park just past St George,UT - the Dairy Queen in St George does not have room for a large RV, so you may have to walk from a larger parking lot - in general, you will be amazed how good the countryside looks without people - out here (in the real West) ALWAYS look to fillup at 1/4 tank - have a great time

100 mil.$ for the new ride according to an emloyee. They are 2.5 bil $ in debt,
haha. I just watched the fireworks from Magic Mountain. They do that everyweek.

The 30 acre land is worth 200 million-LA Times. Was it 300 mil? I am not so sure. If sold it is likely to be homes or some kind of buildings. I wonder if they could sell the roller coasters and get any money as parts or whole thing?
