She did play Tia Dalma. Without that makeup though the girl is off the hook. But drive 8 said I saw it Friday evening. I'd give it an 8/10. Here's my $0.02 review:

OMFG ROSIE CHAVEZ IS #%$&@* SMOKIN'!!!

Thats why I asked the question

Fun predictable entertainment with he best special effects money can buy. A fill-in-the-blank script, IMO. Could've waited to see it on home theatre. Loved Mackenzie Crook, the guy from Office Space. Everyone looked like they needed a bath, except Kiera Knightly of course.

Major production blooper: If you have the sound of a ship under sail and your cut-away shots show a wind-swept sea, makes sure the boat is moving and you've got waves in the background on your close-up dialogue shots. Any other sailors notice this?

Totally agree with the special effects comment. I also thought the sound was awesome. I think this will be a "keeper" for the home theater library!

HELLLOOOOOOOOO.... SPOILER WARNINGS!!!! Come on people, ya gave away the end in some of your posts. Granted, you would think that if someone is reading this thread they saw the movie, but ya never know.

Anyway, I enjoyed it. Nicole and I went to see it Saturday night... and while there were some parts that dragged, there were scenes that made for good laughs and the ending caught me by suprise. I was one of those people that never waited till the end of the credits of the first one so had no clue about Barbosa. The movie was what it was... just a fun enjoyable don't have to think movie.

I too went to see it on Sat....PEOPLE this is typical summer time fare!!! If you want to be entertained, have a couple of laughs, see some incredible imagery and decent acting...this is the movie. If you think that is shakespear you will be dissapointed. I give it a 8.25 only because it does lul in some points....I missed the end credits and did not notice at the end of the first POC about the Barbosa situation. What would be his motivation to save Depp...the Black Pearl is ruined and the crew is dead?

Oh the other thing about the East India Trading Co, back in the tha day was that a real co at one point? Also just like in Star Wars it is stikes me funny how sometimes Hollywood cast corporations and big biz as the root behind most grand schemes of evil and trechory to make a profit. After seeing the last three installments of StarWars I was kinda dissappointed to learn that most of the struggle began with a trade embargo over profit margins.
