Nope, I guess that one passed me over. I actually thought you meant to say "Lebanese". They were talking about this on the radio yesterday -- how the whole Israeli/Lebanese conflict is a PR problem for the NY Times. They are a more liberal newspaper who would be expected to take the more liberal anti-Israeli viewpoint, but of course they are in New York, and a large percentage of their readers are Jewish and they would not want to offend anyone. So apparently they have not published a single editorial on the conflict since it started.

well yeah, that's the joke they're ignoring it, hence lesbians instead of lebanese....because the premise of the joke is that there are problems at the NYTimes...
