Cool Off to Denver tomorrow morning

Flying off to Denver for 5 days tomorrow morning. One thing I am looking forward to is a train ride up Pike's Peak on the United States highest altitude train >14k feet. I'll take lots of pics .

Here's the official warning:

CAUTION: YOU WILL BE TRAVELING UP TO AN ELEVATION OF 14,110 FT. SOME PEOPLE MAY EXPERIENCE ALTITUDE SICKNESS WHICH MAY INCLUDE SYMPTOMS OF DIZZINESS, NAUSEA AND HEADACHES. IN ADDITION, IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR HAVE CARDIAC OR RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS, IT IS NOT ADVISED THAT YOU MAKE THE ASCENT WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR PHYSICIAN.

Note: The vast majority of passengers on the M&PP Ry. have no problems at all, but some people do experience discomfort. To minimize your chances of suffering from the above symptoms, it is advised that you get plenty of sleep the night before by avoiding sex and alcoholic beverages, and drink plenty of water on the day of your trip. If you are unsure, consult a doctor!

Follow the advice, SG!

and no booze, none at all, none, zippo, zilch, nada.... i learned my lesson on a trip to Steamboat in the late 80's.... ooofa, 2 days of headache the likes of which no hangover has ever caused. Drink tons of water, and aspirin the day before. You won't be there that long so you probably won't be affected, but just in case.

SG, Have a great trip to CO!

We stupidly rode our M'cycles up PP during
our Coast to Coast run in '94. The Scoots huffed
and puffed and the road is mostly gravel which made
for a long, nervous run; not my most fun ride,
but the views were outfookinstanding!

A lil'headache may seep in, but unless one
is debilitated, it is not a prob.
Have a great week in the Rockies!
