Alignment Questions

Ok I've never had an alignment done before and I need one done now that my car is about to be returned to me, how much do they run usually and whats a good place to get one done?

The last alignment I had done on a BMW was around $80 at the dealership (Pgh PA area). If you're getting a BMW aligned, I wouldn't take it anywhere but a BMW dealer. The difference is that the technician will weight the car to simulate a loaded condition. It's worth the extra cost.

I would agree on the dealership as well. Another option is NTB if you have them. I took my old car there, and an alignment was about $100. However they have this special where you can bring it back as much as you want for a year, I think, for future alignments.

Wow that's pretty inexpensive. My dealer wanted $150 for an alignment for the X3. Instead we went to a BMW Indy shop, where it was $130 - 10% BMW CCA discount so it ran up to around $117.

My Lexus dealer wants $140 for an alignment on my 1996 Lexus ES. Now that's going to the dealer Fri. since that's the only reliable place (I don't trust Toyota dealers much......).

These prices sound about right. My Benz dealer requested $300 for alignment for an ML500, but my local trusty mechanic did the same job for $80.
