Some 13 years ago when i was your age, we drove to Tijuana from Mira Mesa just to have fun. We didn't even care if some gangsta in the Tijuana area have us at gun point. We wanted fun and we had it. Screw the rest. Have your fun. By the way, I used to live in Mira Mesa and Black Moutain neighborhood.

Yeah we live near there in Scripps Ranch, well my parents do, thats a very bad mindset to have when entering a third world country, I grew up going to mexico (we have property there) but I still view it as a "kids gloves" approach

Do you know Black Mountain area well? I used to live at Compass Point where the new rows of single family houses built in '96. Go to the Lake on the hill, thats nice place to rest your day. I remember I had to rent an apartment on Scripps Ranch for 6 months. My 92 Honda Accords were ripped apart when I go to East Side San Diego. El Cajon, University Blvd are bad places to visit, but they have pretty good Asian restaurants there thought. At the intersection of Mira Mesa and Black Mountain Rd. you will have 2 vietnamese restaurant which were my favourite for bowls of noodle soup. One is Bolsa the other is Hoa Cali. You should go try their menu. Much love.

I live near University Ave, its actually one of the most expensive areas in San Diego county to live in, at least where I am (Hillcrest)

Move up north of San Diego. Its a nicer and better place to live. or to the west. Lajolla is the best place. I missed San Diego since we moved up North East just recent year. Actually I consider San Diego is my home town. When we were still in College some 13 years ago we usually went to Denny's on Miramar Rd. and stayed there talking until sunrise. The heck with time. But its all good.

It may seem Nicer but downtown/Hillcrest has a much more vibrant quality of life, better restaurants, higher income brackets, more parks and cultural things to do, I like the 'burbs I grew up in Rancho Santa Fe but its not for me
