Volvo XC90

I sat in the 2007 V8 model yesterday and was pretty impressed, not bad and fully loaded at 54k, anyone test drive them?

It looks like you test drive new car every week. Considering buying extra cars? Or is that because you are a insurance agent who needs to test drive every car?I don't know about you but most people don't test drive car for fun. At least 90% of us don't do that. Being rich is nice huh?

I love to test drive the competition to my car and compare it, and I broker Insurance but I don't deal with auto so I would have no reason to and even if I was, I would have no reason to

Comfort ahead of performance

I took one out a few months ago. It's a nice, comfortable cruising vehicle, but it's not even in the same ballpark as BMW in terms of performance or handling. I found the engine choices lacking in power (both V8 and Turbo) and rough feeling, and the handling simply isn't in the game. It's designed to be a 'comfort cruiser', not that there's anything wrong with that if it's what you want.

I think the New E70 looks like one. Not a good thing.

Interior is hideous.

Plus you'd be driving around a brand that screams "i'm a soccer mom".

I also don't find it that attractive on the outside, but many on the other hand do...

That happens to be what the X5 has turned into. 8 out of 10 X5 drivers around here are soccer moms. These days, just about every upscale SUV/SAV is a soccer mom ride.

Maybe its just here, but fact: I know at least 10 people who have ordered one since Nov 2004. 8 of them are either sold, are for sale, or traded in. All experienced wayyy to many dealer visits within the first year. Nevertheless, they still sell like hotcakes here. And those are US models as well....I dont get it..People seem to believe they make more of a "success" statement than most vehicles...You got me..

With E70 pricing out, why would you bother with that when you can get a 4.8i for a bit more?

Maybe BMW made the new X5 complex enough so soccer moms won't know how to operate it!

Perhaps, but its because of Volvo wagons that we have the term soccer mom...
