Cayenne Facelift spy shots

Porsche’s first off road model Cayenne has been on the market since winter 2002 and is now about to undergo a first major restyling scheduled for release in the beginning of 2007 – most likely at the Detroit Motor Show.

These latest photos are showing three variants of Cayenne prototypes. The photos showing rear end shots are featuring different exhaust pipe configurations which are integrated into the rear bumper, a newly styled roof rack, new taillights and a larger rear spoiler at the end of the roof line. As can be seen also, the car will have a distinctly rounder front end with new headlights and additional LED lights integrated in the larger air openings in the front bumper fascia. Quite obviously chrome has come back in many places. Inside the Cayenne the design and styling has also been remodelled making the next Cayenne generation even more luxurious.

In addition, a Hybrid version is said to be in the pipeline developed in co-operation with VW and Audi. This one, however, for launch earliest in 2010.

On the photos just a few strips of tape were edited off by computer.

The look of the roof rail/rack, rear spoiler and exhausts (and the polka dots running board) much resemble those on the X5, don't you think?

I like the current style better. Those rear shots look kind of gawdy Front end isn't bad though. ...Wait, I've changed my mind... Front has too much grill, looks like a cheesy grin (darn, no smilies on an edit).
