Some B'Fly/Flower Pics...
lil' perennial flower patches. There is a bumper crop of butterflys this season, and bees; mostly the very docile bumblebee. I was goofing with "closer in" on my old, small Canon S50 and some wide angle pics, close in, (not macro, unfortunately), through my Minolta 5D with med-wide angle lens. The subjects, espc. the B'flys do not hold still as they are in near constant motion, when observed carefully; thus, some not razor sharp stuff. Nor, do I have PS to sharpen. Most of the B'flys are of the Eastern Green Swallowtail, (Pipevine Swallotail), and a couple of the Spicebush Swallowtail, and Great Spangled Fritillary. And, Mr. Bumblebee. The perennial flowers are mostly B'Bush, Purple Cone flower and one shot of B'bees "stoned" on Fragile Angelica. Thanks for Looking... BR,mD

Jeez MD, I haven't seen that many butterflies in my lifetime and you've captured them in a day? Great shots.
I look forward to your boring azz pics!

Since I've been shooting Minolta for many years and have a few "good" Minolta brand and Sigma brand,Minolta mount lenses, I was trying to stay in budget with a K-Minolta 5D bod, as opposed to going Canon, Nikon, et al and having to cop some new glass. I like it: med. light weight, enough features, decent 6.1ish Megs, good CCD, etc. I wish they offered an ISO below 100. The anti-shake feature is decent, too. I copped it for $4 ish bens, with coupons and hard shopping...I realize they were going OOB, at the time, but didn't care. Sony bought their "stuff" and have a new big time cam. out that looks like the 5D with an IQ transplant. BR,mD

oooooh, it's the Maxxum 5D... i thought you went and bought a Canon 5D. I've got my eye on the Canon because i want to go full frame, but I can't justify the $3,000 just for the body.
Nice pics regardless... it's the photographer, not the equipment

And, More Pics to Maintain Your Boredom Levels...
S'more from same "folder"...
I really like the hundreds of bees & wasps, of a few species, that stay all day on the "flower" buds of the Angelica, a wildflower that I don't weedwack or pull in most spots of our naturalized "front yard." Some reading suggests that the bees and wasps are drawn to the "flower" umbels and they exude an intoxicating type "nectar". The other flower pics are snaps of our perennial beds which have kicked azz in this warmer than normal weather, here at 5K ft elev. NEway, shows ya what an ol'fart does for kicks and enjoyment. Thanks for viewing... BR,mD
