I was in the office last afternoon having a chat with a lady friend of mine.
While we were joking around with some sexually explicit materials, fortunately I am not shaggin' with her unless she lose 50lbs and 20 years off her age. One new hire who is a 30ish Caucasian male came in and joined the conversation. I told them how I possess qualities that are not common among straight male despite the fact that I am straight and sure about myself i.e. I will be the first one who would spot if a female colleague who changed her hair or put a new pairs of shoes and compliment them, and I often fancy some music that are considered gay: Shania Twain, Mary J Blige, etc.. He, the new hire, shared his experience working for House of Blues and their liberal dress code; he stated that if he wore woman's lingerie and a thong they wouldn't have minded. Right after he left he left, she slapped her lab and shouted, "Oh My God, he is gay!" "He just expressed what was on his sub-consciousness." My friend was an extremely successful real estate agent for 20 years. I sort of trust her ability reading a person considering her background. (I also resent a person who starts unnecessary gossips that could be couter-productive.) I think it is a fascinating subject. Any thoughts? (Disclaimer: I personally think that a person’s sexuality doesn’t concern me, as long as he/she does the job at the workplace and understand why someone has to pretend someone he/she is not.)

I think most of us, men & women, are occasionally on
the "edge", at least "thoughts-wise". Anyone that proclaims they are not, have never been, etc., are probably not being honest about it or, introspective with their own mental 'tudes. I've been guilty of expressing some unusual, non-filtered stuff on occasion, so I seldom get excited about an "off beat" comment. I'd let it go as "office bs", in your described anecdote...though sooner or later, most men & women can notice the tendency. But, who cares, as you said. as for the rest of us wackos... Two things that set off my Gaydar....
1. A very touchy male that is not in your circle of friends that you condsider more of an aquintance and any time you have any type of conversation that results in a laugh that your personal space gets invaded, hand touches the arm, the awkward slap on the back....hahaha...ff off!....very irratating. 2. Anyone who reads Details magazine...wicked gay....(of course I figure this out after I get a gift card to Barnes and Noble for Xmas and decide to order some mags suchs as FHM, C&D, and then I had 8 bucks left and Details was $7.99 for 12 issues...it starts coming to the house, one day on the can I leaf through it and on the back page it asks...GAY or Straight and then had some examples...I think nothing of it...till I notice it in the next issue and the next and the next...so I point these things out to my girl who is sitting on the couch doing her nails and I show her all the the ads and the then the article topics and then the Gay or Straight last page of every issue...she is laughed so hard she snorted and smudged a nail...she is like "yup...totally gay, you may want to box those up and send them to your Uncle Morris." fff great...I could have gotten and ice coffee and a sausage egg n cheese from Dunkin donuts with that money!) |

Um details magazine was created for who those who we're not afraid to spend money to look good, I know plenty of straight men who read it, it was not created for the "average guy" reader as they simply cannot appriciate a good pair of Gucci shoes.

Hey I like Details, I just got the new big issue, its great! But yes it is for a niche market. (actually I thought cargo was better but since the cancled that one I got details)
Oh, and your new coworker is straight. Just because he mentioned cross dressing doesnt make him gay. In fact there is a larger subgroup of straight guys that wear articles of womens clothing than gay guys. |
