Wink Any PC/Console Game Fanatics out there?

Yester day I had an interesting conversation with 44 yrs old Jewish guy at my favorite Sushi bar. He was really into PC Game called WOW(World of Warcraft) it is the most popular MMRPG(Masively Multiplayer Role Playing Game).
He is active in the game, write forum articles, and run the clans. He also claims he met a beatiful 36 year old Spanish Enginner online soon to be united in LA.
I was in Game Developing Business for few years, I know why people are facinated/addicted to this game. Last game I played was Diablo II, it was very addictive even though I don't have any gene that is prone to addiciton. (Yes, I get bored easily.)
Do you have any favorite PC/Console game?

A couple of years ago I was on a Mechwarrior league. Team play. Had voice communication and everything. It was a lot of fun and I played for about 1.5 years. Just got to be too demanding of my time though. We had league battles almost every night that would take 2-3 or more hours to do so I finally gave it up. I mean 5 nights a week is just too much! Biggest problem was getting enough good players on your team so you didn't have to play all the time.

I've always liked First Person Shooters the best. Action stuff like Doom, FarCry, Quake, F.E.A.R., Half Life, Call of Duty, etc. I love killing stuff that isn't real ! Driving games are cool too. That's about all I play now. I only play on the PC, I don't like the game box controls of the Playstation and X-Box. Not enough control. Those "+" directional buttons and cheesy joysticks just don't compare to the fluidity of a mouse, keyboard and full size joystick for accurate control!

PC FPS for me too!

Although I have been spending a scary amount of time playing The Elder Scrolls - Oblivion, am I becomeing an RPG addict?

I've never owned a console in my life and only played them about 6 times in my life.

Been playing, Doom (at the age of 7), Doom II Doom III(at the age of 20), all of the Quake trillogy, Half-Life trillogy (my favorite of all time), F.E.A.R , Call Of Duty & COD II, Medal of Honor, GTA III Vice City and San Andreas,Far Cry, Duke Nukem 1 2 3D Manhatten project and Forever, Aliens Versus Predator II, Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2, Deus-Ex, etc, etc, etc....

And in honor of the best game of all time (and its hundreds of modifications)
Forget Doctor Breen, Kneel down before your Ruler!, Gordon Freeman!

If you play FPS games and haven't played Half-Life, you aint an FPS gamer at all!.

I play all kind of games. I love tatic games. Now I am playing game call Sega gundam(MS Sage, a new dawn) on PS 2. Graphic looks out dated even though they released this year(what's up? Bandai) Anyway, this game has strong story line and I like it a lot. BTW, it's turn around game. Some people don't like turn around game, I wasn't. I am sure I played every games that you guys can name it(maybe not).

Dead Rising, PREY, DOOM 3, and NCAA Football for XBOX 360!

Currently in my second day in Dead Rising! And to think XBOX 360 isn't even using 30% of it's capabilites yet.

HALO 3 should be really great!

I go through phases. I played Project Gotham Racing 1&2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein to the end (Xbox) as well as Gran Turismo 1/2/3 (PS2). On the other hand, I have several Madden games and the GTA series and could never really get into them. I've been playing the original Halo here and there and find it mildly addictive, but it's a good game. Back in the day I played Half-Life, the Doom series, Duke Nukem, the Quake series, etc. (And here's one for the old skool gamers...Wizardry! My first game addiction.) I tend to play more when the weather gets cold since the days are shorter and it's too cold to go out.

For me its Strategy games The first time I played Civilization 1 on the Amiga 500 it was pure magic.

Now I am waiting for Medieval 2 - Total War. It will be the game to end all games for me. Atleast until they make another one. Also been playing alot of Civilization 4 - though the new expansion was a big let-down. Also played Oblivion - I genuinly think that is a step forward - a true Next Gen game if you will, but that is another discussion for another time.

In the past I played Counter Strike alot - was in a british clan - we managed alright But as has been mentioned to play that kind of game seriously takes up alot of time - so as responsebilities grew game-skills faded

Now for the real nail in the coffin - proving that I am a gamer - I met my wife through Star Wars Galaxies She was a Twi'lek dancer and I was a trandoshian bounty hunter - a match made in heaven

You just proved Online Game is not only for pimply teenagers who doesn't shower.
(Assuming you are not the pimply teenager who's F&*%ing with me. )

I've been mostly a PC Gamer but I own two PS2s for my family members. Of course Played Half-Life(s). Only PS2 games I liked were Onimusha(1,2,and 3.)
I wasn't crazy about it but I also played StarCraft back in my days. They still have tornaments and broadcast in live TV in Korea.

Lineage I, II are huge for MMRPG, but WOW just took over the market share.
I am thinking about getting back in the game.
