I'm still waiting for someone to invent a GPS system for our cars that has a built in radar detector. Imagine if our GPS systems could tell us where the cops are hiding out with their little laser guns. Now that would be really cool.

And if you can come up with the mod to do that, you'd be a millionaire in no time.

Something close to that you can do now with Car-X. Someone on HacktheIbus board has put all the speedtraps available on this site on a file which works with Car-X and nav and lat, long and nav beeps when you approach the listed speedtraps.

That service is already available in Germany were I live, the navigation system that I have on my Maxima, have a separate antenna that give, real time traffic, weather, traffic cameras and constriction, the give an alternate route.

Having seen someone from the M5board adding the POI for speed cameras (in UK) to their M5 Nav, I want to add these speedtraps to the BMW Nav, but I just need the GPS coordinates to do so. This would be a fun project to do.
