I'm liking the looks of the Soho Grand, though. Don't think I want to be in Times Square. I'm appreciating all the suggestions, though. I like planning it out ahead-we don't get much "away alone" time at all these days.

Soho Grand is owned by the Hartz Mountain guy, and thus is pet friendly. Very well executed decor, cutting edge Soho ambience, busy street though. Go to Raoul's around the corner, if Rob is there, he will take great care of you. For the same ambience, but a little quieter, (same owners) try Tribecca Grand.
