You could try the Hudson hotel- 356 W. 58th st. www.hudsonhotel.com

I stayed there several months ago- very trendy (unique) decor, and a little off the times square zoo scene, but not too far to walk. A ton of restaurants in walking distance. Room I had was small, but I'm sure they have larger if you want.

You may want to checkout Le Parker Meridien hotel, beautiful rooms and very spacious. In the morning you can visit Norma's for a gourmet breakfast.

Imo, a weekend in GothamCity is outstanding, esp. for
those of you that don't live in/around---work in area.

The "hotel pick", to me, would be convenience, value,
location, etc. The big buck "romance" angle would seem
to be overdone. For a "dirty weekend", one could stay
locally, find the swankiest joint and boogie all weekend.

NYC is for getting out and doing stuff, it seems to me.

Don't know yet. Turns out we probably won't get to go down there until November.

I'm liking the looks of the Soho Grand, though. Don't think I want to be in Times Square. I'm appreciating all the suggestions, though. I like planning it out ahead-we don't get much "away alone" time at all these days.
