Anybody want to try Windows Vista pre-RC1?

Here's the website:

It's a DVD ISO file, so you will have to burn a DVD and install.

I tryed the 64bit version, its nice and all but lil fat IMO, everything is so big. I like minimal desktops, I hope i can mod it later on. Plus theres not a lot fun on vista yet since very games/software support it, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

is that an eval key or a "hot" key from microsoft? if it's the latter, probably not a good idea posting it on the internet...

For those interested in pricing...

Here is the official Canadian pricing for all consumer Windows versions (not yet published by Microsoft even!).

FULL versions (all prices Canadian)
Windows Vista Ultimate $499
Windows XP Professional w/SP2 $429
Windows Vista Business $379
Windows Vista Home Premium $299
Windows Vista Home Basic $259
Windows XP Home w/SP2 $259

UPGRADE versions (all prices Canadian)
Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade $299
Windows XP Professional w/SP2 Upgrade $259
Windows Vista Business Upgrade $249
Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade $199
Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade $129
Windows XP Home w/SP2 Upgrade $129

$1 Canadian equals $0.90 US from today's rate. You can do the math.

I have had the disks for both 32 and 64 bit Vista for several weeks, but have not bothered to install either. I would probably need to upgrade a system to get the full benefits, and it isn't worth it. I will just build new desktop systems, and buy a new notebook, in a few months.

Are you using the new Office? Hard to find the commands at first, but I like it.
