weekend run; X5, Abandoned XVII-Century Sanctuary over Atlantic Ocean
So took a short trip with the CEO last weekend over to a peninsula south of Lisbon where there's a very cool XVII-Century semi-abandoned Sanctuary overlooking the Atlantic ocean.

Took some pics & thought I'd share.

Great pics 6to. That last one has such an eerie look to it. I guess it really is deserted, not even a tourist attraction, huh? Looks like no one else is around.

Wow, cool pics! I guess it isnt much of a tourist attraction now is it, judging from the crowds (or the lack thereof).

the funny thing is that it can be more surreal than then pics suggest. The tourists hang mostly by the ocean-side of the structure, although I must admit I've never really seen more than a dozen cars at any time there (it's a road that dead-ends at the Sanctuary and adjacent lighthouse, nothing else around but cliffs dropping sharply to the ocean, with no guard-rails..).

The chapel is actually functioning; when we arrived a newly-wed couple were just stepping out; the funniest looking pair. Sortoff looked like characters from a david linch movie..
