Saw a group of 2007 X5's in person today
Went to BMW Performance Center for my 6-Series Driving Experience and saw a group of five or six 2007 X5's parked in the parking lot, all without the front, rear, and steering wheel roundels. The X5 badges were not even there. There were about four 4.8i's and two 3.0i's, fully loaded with the rear entertainment system. The 4.8's have ventilated seats and 20" rims. I took some pictures of them with my camera phone but haven't had a chance to upload them to my laptop yet (left the cable at home). Will get them uploaded as soon as I get home tomorrow. They look 110% better in person, let me tell you. I was pretty much sold on these the minute I saw them.
While I was there, I also saw a group of X5 owners taking the X5's (both 1st-generation X5's and new 2007 X5's) onto the track. The 2007's were still in disguise: masking tapes around the sides, front headlights, and brake lights.
The factory tour is closed to the public due to the upcoming launch event of the 2007 X5's. They were building a huge tent right outside the Performance Center to host the X5 launch event in a couple of weeks.
