I am having some bad luck!

So yesterday I badly bent a rim and got a flat tire... Tonight I get rear-ended!
I was driving home from my friend's birthday dinner in town. My friend Steph was driving behind me in her 2001 Altima. Someone pulled off a side street and I had to slam the brakes. Now, the good side of BMW brakes is that you can pretty much stop and avoid hitting people in front of you.. The downside is that people behind you can't stop in time.. Steph's Altima doesn't have ABS.. So she slid and slammed right into me. I heard the screeching behind me and I knew she was going to hit me so I planted my foot on the brake. My car barely moved when she hit me... The bumper did a great job of absorbing the impact. We pulled over, made sure each other was ok.. I need a new bumper. It's loose, scratched.. Some paint fell off.
I'm glad it wasn't that bad and we were both ok. It was my first accident!

Maybe it is better that you park your car and not drive for a while.

Crappy luck. I'm surprised that her 2001 Altima doesn't have ABS. Did she manage to slow down very much before hitting you? The damage might be more than you know. That bumper cover could be hiding quite a bit. Also, is Steph hot?

I'm surprised too. She has the Special Edition one, which is supposed to have all the most popular features, I think.. She slowed down quite a bit.. She was probably going about 40 when she hit the brakes, significantly less than that when she actually hit me. She hit me hard enough for it to hurt though.. My neck and the middle of my spine is killing me. I'm going to take it to a body shop ASAP.. The bumper definitely needs to be replaced. It's all scraped and very loose, and like you said, I want them to make sure there's no hidden damage.

EDIT: Steph is very pretty. She's 4'11 though. She makes up for her height with one of the strongest, fieriest personalities I've ever experienced!

Glad you guys are OK. Bad streak this week, huh. Well at least you'll get it all out of the way at once.

How did the Altima hold up?

Hey CJ - haven't heard from you for a while - don't be such a stranger! Sorry to hear about you most recent mishaps - hope you don't have a serious back problem. You may want to get that checked out too.

Did you say this is your first accident? I seem to recall you running over a little girl a couple of years ago, no?

The Altima's bumper was a little f-ed up, but no other damage was visible.

I got some whiplash. It's not too serious, though. I thought more about the accident and realized that my car must not have been completely stopped when she hit me. Otherwise the damage would have been much worse, and my back would probably be hurting a lot more right now. I think I was probably going at least 7-10 mph when she hit me.

Well, I don't count that as an accident, running the girl over. It happened in a parking lot and it was because the X5 (apparently) slipped out of park and rolled.
