so in MOTOWN (?!) they have john cougar-mellancamp-cougar-cougar-mellancamp sing??? he's from indiana!!! and the group he's with is from nashville.
thanks chevy for that crap (no offense, i actually like his music...but this is MOTOWN!!)

It was probably produced by an MLB flunky whom
slept through their one A & R course in college. Having been born, raised and grown up there, '47 to '75, I would have liked to have seen Stevie or... I like Mellencamp, but Smokey woulda been more appropriate. Otoh, JM is all about the midwest salt of the earth deal, and the MLB geniuses prob. figured that he would go over well in the former blue collar capital of the world. Plus, it gave the noveau riche silver spoon, outer burb residents, a chance to get loud and clap along.

yes. and that song is the music for the recent chevy (truck i think) campaign...and since gm has a chevy truck in the outfied, another shameles plug, except the song is longer than the 30 second commercial.
