What is the best technical forum for MAC?

Thanks..

And in case any of you are wondering what my technical problem is:

I bought a 30 inch Cinema display and had to upgrade to a new video card ATI 9600 Pro to get the full resolution out of the monitor.

So we hooked everything up and got the full resolution but then, for some strange reason, surfing the internet became nearly impossible. I would click and the cpu would hang for 30 sec. to a min. before it downloaded the next site.
We thought it was the network and bandwidth issues and we trouble shot that problems only to learn that the network was running fine. So we put back in the original video card the CPU came with and VOILAA the cpu and web surfing was back to normal speed.

So for some reason, the new video card was slowing down my browsers. I have an older PowerMac G5 w/ a 1.6 ghz with 2.5 GB of Ram. Running OS X 10.4.8..

So we are going to try a new video card tomorrow but even the tech's at Mac were stumped.. Again, my internet is working again, at full speed, but on my old video card which means I only get 1280x800 instead of 2560x????

Both MacWorld and MacAddict have good forums. Apple's web site also has an extensive knowledge base.

Good luck

Being that you bought a new Apple product you should have phone tech support. I would start there. Next try this http://www.apple.com/support/displays/. and don't for get to visit the Apple store (In person) don't call.
Next. It may be listed here. http://www.macfixit.com/ Finally contact the MFG.http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:...&client=safari

Stupid question from a non-Mac guy. I thought Mac stuff was plug-n-play, stick it in and it works? In the Windows world the first thing I'd check is the display driver. There must be display drivers for the Mac OS as well?

Indeed Macs are plug and play and yes in this case no drivers are required. However 3rd party gear has to be installed properly, (not saying it wasn't in this case) I bought a firewire card not long ago and no matter what i tried it just didn't work. So i bought another brand and it works fine. So problems can happen. If there is something wrong with the card things there is no telling what the malfunction would cause. Early firewire cards would not allow some Mac's to go to sleep. Some would not allow them to wake up. Finally developers found out that they needed to comply wih apples coding process.
