Happy Friday everyone! Sorry this edition is very late but I got caught up in some things last night and it got very, very late and I fell asleep before I could get this done. So in the spirit of "better late than never", here we go....

The first thing I want to talk about is the impending O.J. Simpson book, "If I did It". Like just about everyone my first reaction was ??? Then came the outrage, the disbelief, and just plain head shaking. I think that I'm in the majority when I think that it is not a work of fiction so much as O.J.'s confession to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. One can say that we'll never know the truth but I think this book will pretty much tell us how he did it. To me, it is how he did it. The Mark Furhman/Marcia Clarke/Christopher Darden/Dennis Fung/Glove debacle that was the prosecution is not what the case was about. That's just how the case got taken off track from the search for truth and put on a direct rail to acquittal and a murderer getting away with it. I happened to be privy to some of the evidence in the case as it was going on so I have a little insight. The glove demonstration was a gross miscalculation and irrepairable tactical decision by Christopher Darden. Take a shruken leather glove and try to put it on while wearing a latex glove underneath, add in some bad theatrics, and there you have Johnny Cochrane's dagger-to-the-heart-of-the-prosecution line in closing argument. I digress.... The book is most certainly despicable and one of the most disgusting demonstrations of arrogance and snubbing of the nose at the world we have ever seen. It's a direct taunt to everyone and it should evoke deep emotions of anger. Sure our criminal justice system allowed for the acquittal and we have to live with that monumental perversion of justice but we don't have to like it. O.J. can never be retried for the murders and the civil judgement has only be partially collected while Simpson continues to collect his $25,000 a month NFL pension and play golf. That is however, only when he's not scouring the Earth for the real killers.

The question of why this book? My personal feelings are that Simpson is an arrogant narcissist and he wants to celebrate getting away with murder and he's laid low long enough for him to feel it is time to come out of the shadows. I think also that the money is a motivating factor but I believe it is more about him putting himself in the spotlight and again being a celebrity who is talked about and sought out to be interviewed, even if it is for the grotesque reason of hearing about his confession, I mean, his book. This article talks about why he might be doing this.

I think he should be shot and buried in an unmarked grave but short of that, he should at least have the sense and decency to just keep his mouth shut. Take the gift that the jury gave you and run with it. Go off and never be heard from again. I know that given his inherent need for attention and wanting to be the beloved celebrity he once was prevents him from becoming simply an obscure footnote in the history books but coming out with this book is an unprecedented new low, even for a double murderer. Some people say that getting angry with someone like him only empowers him and the best thing is to ignore him but this is a tough one to ignore. Let's hope that this book fails, the attention it is getting quickly subsides, and Simpson's ultimate goal of regaining his fame and attention goes unrealized.

So my wife and I went and saw "Borat" last Friday. We've both seen him on HBO's "Ali G Show" well before this movie came out so we knew what Borat was all about. "Great success!" Some of the situations in the movie, while funny, did make me a little uncomfortable but never did I feel sorry for the "victims". There is one series where Borat takes etiquette lessons and then attends a dinner with some snotty Southerners. Now that the jig is up, someone has sour grapes. The etiquette coach they hired is steamed and has retained that whore of an "attorney", Gloria Allred. So their tale of woe is that she was duped but apparently the lady was fully informed and knew that the segment would be used in a movie and they were paid in full. In fact, they were paid extra. All releases were signed and now that they realize how stupid they look to the whole world she wants to put the horses back in the barn. Too bad. :nana: I hate even acknowledging Gloria Allred. I think "whore" is too kind for that parasite. Find my happy place....

Dogs and cats getting along or an elaborate hoax to have a totally useless story about them? Another Darwin Award nominee. At least his chances of procreating have been diminished. We all know that flying has become more secure, thanks to shoe bombers and hijackers armed with shampoo and tweezers but watch out for amourous terrorists. Do you think xoutpost.com should advertise more? Here is a good opportunity. Who says that the beautiful get special treatment? Okay, maybe they do. How badly do you want a Playstation 3? Would you bust a cap for one? This lady would have held on to her PS3. Okay, that was kind of cold of me. Gay penguins and gay giraffes, oh my!
