Here comes the Niners!

It has been really rough being a 49ers fan these last few years! It's tough to watch your team get beat up week after week after week after week

We finally won our third game in a row. None of them were pretty, but a win is a win, and we haven't done three in a row since 2002! I can still remember the Montana days when we expect a win every week!

Well, at least this is a start

Didn't I just read in the papers a couple of weeks ago that they're movin out of SF?

edit: yup, here's the link: http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/...s/15994537.htm

probably just a bargaining ploy to push the SF politicos around, but who knows.

I might have to start watching the games again. It has been so painful the past few?? years. The Montana years... those were some great Super Bowl parties

Fair Weather Fan

The 49ers are looking like they may be successful in the years to come....wonder how their cap money is doing (aren't they paying like 3 players that aren't there any more?).

Welcome the Santa Clara 49ers.

I'm guessing the fan base for the Niners is probably closer to Santa Clara, Fremont, San Jose, Sunnyvale, etc., while East Bay is all silver and black. The people up in the City are too busy jogging in Golden Gate Park and feeding the sea lions to go watch the Niners play.

I think the 49er's just want to build a stadium with a large parking lot, but the SF politicians want them to build this whole retail complex with housing which adds lots of costs to the infrastructure, and the 49er owners don't want to have anything to do with it. Throw in the fact that the mayor was not very involved in the negotiations, and everyone involved was passing the buck along, nothing was getting done. I think it's just a ploy to bring all the parties to the table and talk.

There was a long waiting list for season tickets for a long time, but now you can even buy tickets on game day! But hopefully the fans will start coming back and we can watch some real football again! Alex Smith has progressed along nicely and that Frank Gore is something else to watch We are still a ways off, but at least we are .500 at this point in the season, and I told myself at the beginning of the season, if we can finish at .500, it would have been a good season for us this year!
