Thumbs down CompUSA

compusa as a sony dvd burner on their site for $4.99 after intant and mail in rebate http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...AM_CD_RW_Drive
on their printed ad and the interactive flyer on the site it show the price as $25 after all the rebates. I when to the store to buy a few and they tell me that they can`t honor the lowest price shown because some hacked their site and changed the price i called other store and i spoke to another manager that we know a a different store and they tell me that they did not heard anything about the site been hacked and that they should honor the lowest price shown. then one manager called another manager and the person who handles my comporate account to the back, then the 2 managers come out and tell me that they can sell it for the lowest shown price and that they don`t care what the website shows.

they keep changing stories and so i got so mad that i told them to close our corporate account and to go home with their shit story. I know that we don`t do much business with them ( only about $10,000 a year) but i don`t like the way the problem was handled and i told them that if they knew about the problem that they should had posted a correction notice on the shelf by the product, and that tomorrow i`ll be making a formar complain with the head manager
and this whole thing is not about the price but about how they treat the clients and about how they handle the problem...

sorry guy for the long story but i`m just very angry.

Trust me, CompUSA is currently the worst rated store in customer service. I stopped visiting CompUSA 2 years ago when they refused to honor their flyer ad and asked me that they will give the advt price if I make min. $100 purchase(which they missed to print in flyer). They make BS stories on the fly. They are in trouble financially due to bad management, which is why all the BS.

they're always my last choice, only buying from them in an emergency.... Stick with jr.com, newegg.com, and frys.com, a lot less aggravation.

They rank right down there with Frys (my idea of what hell would be like)

actually, i've always liked frys, always thought the people who worked there actually knew their tech.

then again, that's probably cuz i usually went to one of the frys located in silicon valley, where most of the employees there were stanford CS students from india heh

I love the Fry's in San Jose. I always felt that I died and arrived at the Geekdom.
However, Fry's in LA Area really sucks. Often they are more expensive and display if awful. Quality of sales staff? Are you kidding me?

I hate most of these so-called tech stores. The staff usually know little to nothing. I feel sorry for those who don't know anything about tech and rely on those knuckleheads to advise them. Once in a great while you'll run across someone who knows a little something but that is rare. I think once at CompUSA we ran into a guy who really knew stuff about Macs but I think he was there for some kind of in-store promotion.

Fry's is the worst. They stock anything and everything but you can never get customer service, returns take forever, the shelves are always a mess, and you never know when you're getting a brand new item or one that has been returned and repackaged.
