Opinions on an electric shaver

Has anybody used the Braun 360 8995 shaver or an electric shaver in general, and what is your opinion on it (I've never used one, but have been considering getting one)

i use a norelco electric shaver (about 2 years old) and love it.
I'm too cheap to upgrade to one of the newer ones (with the self cleaning option) - will do once this breaks.

I have a slightly less expensive version (8585), and love it! Best electric shaver I have ever had.

I tried to switch from blades to an electric and after a week I switched back. I just couldn't get used to getting a less close shave.

I tried electric shavers but it just wasn't quite the same. Nothing beats a blade. Or three of four, or FIVE!

And just to muddy the waters a little more, my experience is just the opposite. I've used nothing but a Braun for years and wouldn't want to use anything else. I've had great service from every Braun I've owned. [Note: get a German-made Braun, as some of the entry-level models are now made in China. There IS a difference.] I got a new self-cleaning unit in March (not the 360...the next one down, perhaps?) and this feature is worth the cost. It does a fine job of keeping the blades and foil nice and clean.

I've used an electric now for the past fifteen years. When I switched, it took about a month to make the transition, but the tradeoff is worth the effort, IMO. With a blade, I can never get a smooth finish without blood, nicks, or the need for the occasional skin graft.

I'm with a couple posters above:
I never found the switch from blades to
electric, to be comfortable.

I'm told by my elec. shave friends that I
didn't give it "enough time" for my skin
to become "used" to the electric shaver.

I have tried Norelcos and old Brauns...
nothing recent, so they may be much
improved. As I don't shave but 1-2 times
a week anymore, it's not a big deal whipping
out the Gillette Sensor, lol!

I use a Wal-Mart cheapazz small Wahl
to trim my goat&'stache and a larger
Wahl for "buzzcut" theCEO gives me.
