Just wow... can easily see both sides though. On another note, it still amazes me with the things that can be done in the medical field today.

They were discussing this on the radio this morning. I, too, can easily see both sides.

I think anything this family can do to improve the quality of life for both themselves and their child is an absolute blessing.
It is easy to throw around the word "ethics" when we are not living the situation for ourselves.

And for the record, I grew up in a household with a disabled parent so I take a lot of different considerations into factoring my opinion.

I think the parents absolutely did the right thing in this case and it was very unselfish of them. Makes a lot of sense to me.

My best friend's daughter got spinal meningitis in the hospital when she was born and is in very similar condition to this girl, if not a bit worse. She's 17 now and almost a full-size adult - very difficult to handle...
