That whole "unity" thing in N.O. was long lived

I spent a week plus business trip down there and at least 10 times a day people would say "I know where you got dem shoes". I learned from a friend prior to going to NO, not to stop as it is a nice mugging tactic. I didn't believe him till I got off the plane and literally 10 minutes later....I heard the line.

My knowledge base is admittedly small, and I certainly don't mean to offend, but I can't stand N.O.

I think it's a nasty, dirty town. Happily, I don't have to go there more than about twice a year.

Again, not trying to be rude.

being from that area, you are correct. however some normal people love it. I have a friend that jsut loves new orleans, but dont knwo why.
now on the flip side the old houses and stuff like that are quite pretty(and expensive) in some of the neighborhooods, but still not evnough for me.
also if you have never been there then you probably dont know that there is some nice stuff there.
On the news I never once saw anything about the multi million dollar homes and home owners that also lost their homes. did you? probably not, but most of the losses their were high dollar places. but you only get to see the bad stuff and the bad people, you know lets steal a TV that is in a store that is flooded, makes sense to me.. not.

Blah you couldn't pay me to visit that place, I agree its a horrid, dirty, nasty town, sorry to anyone who lives there, I agree thou that they focused on the bad people, but didn't most of the nice areas get spared? (Garden district etc) I know the riverfront was destroyed thou
