Whistle E90 3-series 325i & 330i both with 3.0L engines

According to that latest issue of Motor Trend, both (E90) 325i and 330i that are coming to the USA will use the new N52 valvetronic engine and both cars will have 3.0 liter engines.

The 325i will produce something like 215 hp and about 180 lb/ft torque and the 330i will have 255hp and 220 lb/ft of torque. The torque curve is very beefy and comes in earlier and sustained longer throughout the RPM band vs. the outgoing M54 engines.

The difference in HP/Torque is accounted for different intake system. The 330i will have a 3-stage intake induction system and the 325i will only have a 1-stage intake induction system. Of course, engine management software will be different for both engines.

The N62 produces about 13% more power and 12% better fuel economy because the various new technology including valvetronic. The magneisum valve cover also makes the engine weigh less.

Yah not to mention all BMW's are going to be getting the Active Cruise option which allows you to set a time interval and speed with cruise (between 20-110). The car will go that speed and maintain a specified distance from any other vehicles....pretty soon you aren't going to need a driver.

Also the new 330's (I don't know about other E90s) will have the "card" ignition with START/STOP button. Pretty niffty.

Yup - so does Car & Driver

Cover says it's been 'spared'. 'Redesign shows mercy'. LOL - you can tell they are not a fan of Bangle!

Last time I checked, they had a very vague build and price. They had some colors and a few options, but I don't think it's got everything that's available, and I don't think it's got prices yet.

Car and Driver article

Read the C&D article this morning - there is some conflicting info out there. THey state that the 325 will have a 2.5ltr engine, while the 330 will have the 3.0 ltr. They will both be the new design - but two different displacements (as today). Dunno which one is right...

Actually new N52 inline six cylinders will be only 3.0 liter for both the 325i and 330i. The difference is in output: 215hp for 325i and 255hp for 330i.
