I didn't watch it if I want to see a jackass in a suit babble for an hour or so I watch the apprentice.
the most interesting thing about the president is even the republican support is slipping...myself included but I guess they don't really want me around...how many pro-choice, under 30, athiests are in the republican party these days? I swear if it wasn't for the tax benefits I would change sides

A lame duck who sold out his base who has a lot of very tough decisions to make and a Speaker more intent on watching the TV monitor and keeping her face properly framed than focusing on getting things done. Tough job, that of being Leader of the Free World.

I watched the President's speech last evening. Commenting on the speech itself, it was well-crafted and actually fairly well delivered. Unfortunately, they could have rolled tape from the past several years' SOTU speeches and delivered the same speech.
The President spoke on all of the requisite topical issues. Did he say anything new or unexpected? Nope. When the address was complete, I felt as if I've heard it all before.

Watched the whole thing as well. Great speeches, no actions. Last years was great...I'm sure everyone saw the quotes "....troop reductions by the end of the year" and what is he asking for now...22K more troops

I agree. Very lofty rhetoric and a seemingly more bipartisan stand. The execution on the other hand will be a different story.
