Tampa Bay area members.. traffic?

I'm going to be going off to college in Tampa in the fall, as you probably know. I'm just wondering how bad the traffic is in the area. My new car on order is a stick.. But I'm wondering if I shouldn't switch it to an automatic, if there is a lot of stop-and-go traffic in the area. Any opinions? I've driven through plenty of Boston-area traffic jams, but I'm just wondering how bad it is.

The traffic better be good if you are getting a stick otherwise prepare yourself for chiropracter visits for left leg pain from holding on to clutch pedal sitting in trafffic.

I've had plenty of experience with that.. The Maine Turnpike during the summer, I-93 every Saturday morning during the summer, Storrow Drive in Boston.. but I'm just wondering..
