So whose fault was this...

I went camping out in my field with my friends last night. Yesterday afternoon I asked my brother if we could borrow the truck to bring the tent back to the pond, because we had it assembled and cleaned out and we didnt want to bother putting it back together again cause it was getting dark. So all went well. Then we got back upto the house and I found two large scratches on the side of the truck. We tried to get them out but we couldnt. We told my mom and she's like "oh, Dan won't mind too much." So the next morning my brother comes FLYING down to the tent and starts yelling, threatening, etc. Then we went up to the house. My mom was like "Joel, this is all your fault because you were driving." Thats what I don't get though. I was DRIVING. I wasn't holding the tent, I left that up to my friends. So that doesn't make sense. Dan took it to the dealer and it's going to be $808 to fix some small scratches. And my mom is making me pay part of it.. I understand that I should have made sure that it wasn't going to get scratched, but still. I don't think this was really anyone's fault, I think it was an accident. Anyway... Who do you think is at fault?

Also, I think my brother is over-reacting. He won't talk to me, and if he does it's just to yell. They were two tiny scratches. Also, it's a Toyota pickup and hes' going to use it for camping, biking, rock climbing, etc., so a scratch was inevitable. He doesn't even have to pay ONE CENT for the repairs. Why is he so mad? It's going to be fixed without any expense to him. I crashed my car into the garage and I wasn't this mad. Dan dinged the X5 a few times and I wasn't mad. I mean dings and scratches HAPPEN. There's nothing you can do to avoid them. Idk.. I mean I can understand him being mad, but not THIS mad.

Sorry, I'm just mad about this.. OH and my brother decided to be really mature about dealing with it, too... There was mud next to the tent and while we were sleeping he decided to back his truck up there, put it in RWD, and floor it, so he got us all wet and muddy and he ruined all the blankets inside. I hate him!
