another ipod question

I have a mini. I purchased new music and now I have some new device page coming up. Tells me my ipod is up to date. Now it won't upload the songs and says it can't find the files.
However I see the songs on my purchased list.
Then it asked me to AUTHORIZE a song I had purchased. Any teachings out there?

Are the purchased songs showing in your library?

is your iPod full?
Check to see how it (iTunes) imports your music. Is it automatically, or manual?

No, ipod is only 25% full. I don't know. Thought it was on auto. Can't tell.

Yeah he was referring to itunes. It is auto as I thought. It just deleted everthing and reloaded it all. Apparently there was a corrupt file. I do a virus scan later. Thx.
No book from itunes that I know of...
