C/D Mag - Hennessy GC SRT8 Turbo 620hp

Has anyone checked out the article in the March C/D magazine?

Hennessey bolted on a turbo onto the SRT8 Grand Cherokee. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. 1/4 mile in 12.2. Price of admission: $76K.

Bad news - they fried the transmission during testing. Also the turbo is located underneath the engine - that should take all the fun out of driving through puddles.

No article posted to the caranddriver website that I could link to...

DAMN, that was only a mater of time. Guess the kit will work on all the 426hp HEMI's

That's pretty fast but it's a pretty expensive GC. Turbo underneath will somehow work on a GC..I don't see that workin out well on a car..

Wow. That's the second most shocking thing I've read from Hennessy and their tuning. The most freakish thing was when they modded a Viper (not the current one) to like, 830hp and 920 lb/ft of torque. 0-60 ripped in 2.43 secs!!!!!

The local Mopar club here is full of rumblings about a monster roots-type SC about to come out for the Hemis. Allegedly over 600hp on pump gas.
