Automotive Betrayal

I read this in my paper copy of C+D yesterday, and when I got through half the article, I felt as though I had been stabbed in the heart through the back. Acura is turning the NSX into a GT car. Any Honda fan will realize how much this hurts considering how revolutionary this car was. This is supposedly part of the new Acura philosophy to be more upscale. Other related moves were when Honda discontinued the Prelude and Integra back in 2001, and now are cutting off the RSX.

All in all, I feel pretty let down between the directions Honda and BMW are headed in. Both, new, Honda's and Bimmer's just feel so impersonal with these new gens. They feel soulless. It's the same deal with both the companies. Yes, they haul ass and hug like crazy, but I just don't feel the connection. Look inside a new Honda or BMW and one will know exactly what I mean if he/she was a fan of previous gen BMW's and Honda's.

This NSX thing is just something I can't get over though.
