I'm probably the only person here -- guy or girl -- who's not crazy about Vegas, but I'm taking my girl for Valentine's because I know she's always wanted to go with a bf. So here's my question. Obviously, since I'm still a student, I'm cost-limited, which is why I am torn between a "decent" place for 2 nights or a "pimp" place for 1 night. Here's what I can do: Luxor Tower Deluxe Room (just renovated last year) for 2 nights @ $179/night avg. (actually already purchased this, but am having second thoughts thanks to their chill cancellation policy) THE Hotel @ Mandalay Bay Suite for 1 or 2 nights ... comes out to almost $500 ![]() Bellagio or Venetian for 1 night, $500 or $600. If this were a Negotiations class settlement exercise lol, I'd say my TARGET price is $400 but I'm will to stretch as far as $500, and literally CANNOT exceed $600. Thoughts? ![]() Thanks!!

That's a hard one to answer without knowing the lady. If it were me I guess I would do the decent place for 2 nights and use the balance of the cash for a great dinner.

well, while she loves the good life, she does NOT have the typical Beverly Hills Persian girl "gold digger" mentality -- she really loves doing anything as long as we're together. things are either LESS good or MORE good, and as long as we're together, she never DOESN'T enjoy things. she's like that

I am in the same boat as you for the not a big fan of vegas but I have to go there fairly often for work
I will say that Mandalay...even in the regular section (as opposed to THE Hotel tower) is great and there are some really good resteraunts there...since you are younger (I am assuming this because you are still in college) you may also want to check out a place at The Palms it is a blast and if memory serves the nicer suites with the strip view would be in your price range, the conciarge(sp) floor at the Monte Carlo is sweet just try to get a strip view as they are building a new tower on one side so all you get there is a view of the Luxor and a damn big hole not a total baller suite but it has a key protected floor, private lounge and floor conciarge that can get tickets and reservations almost anywhere...I would agree with the statement of maybe cut corners a touch on the room and go all out with a spectacular dinner I can provide some resteraunt ideas if you want a few...depending on what she likes.

I'll be the first to say I don't think Vegas is a good valentines day destination for a couple, just my 2 cents

I recommend that you check out the Mirage. This is a very upscale hotel, but much cheaper than Bellagio or Venetian.
